Why "R2C2"?
"R2C2" might sound a little strange, so we'll explain it's origin. Rachel has always signed her name "R2", R-squared for Rachel Rosenberg. She also uses this in her design career as her trademark. When we become Russ + Rachel Cohn we want to blend together into "R2C2" - a mix of Architecture, Algebra, and Star Wars.
We would like to use the hashtag #Celebr8R2C2 for all wedding weekend activities - incorporating the "8" for August and the Day "22" from "R2C2".
About R+R
Russ and Rachel met in December 2004 while both attending Boston University, but in reality Rachel "stalked" Russ for months through mutual friends before he actually agreed to meet her in person. Their first date was ironically Valentine's Day 2005. Russ brought Rachel a bag of mini m&ms (no peanuts) instead of roses, and took her out for sushi. They dated for the remainder of their time in Boston, Russ graduating Spring 2006 and Rachel Winter of the same year. Upon her graduation, they each decided to follow their our career passions - Rachel went to New York for graduate school at Pratt Institute and Russ went out to Los Angeles for entertainment marketing and some sunshine. Although they both tried living their own lives apart, they realized they never wanted to be without each other. Rach decided to move west. They now live in Culver City and love being a short drive to the ocean, the mountains, and the desert (and for Russ - a golf course). Almost 10 years after they met, Russ proposed late in the evening at the top of their favorite hike in the Santa Monica Mountains close to their home.
